Most of us are looking to increase the flow of abundance in at least one area of our lives. And, for many of us, we have a definite plan of how we are going to do it. Maybe we’ll get a new job that pays better. Maybe we’ll join an internet dating community and look for love. Maybe we’ll plan to have or adopt more children. Maybe we’ll commit to a new exercise and nutrition plan to attract abundant health.
The point is that most of us think it’s entirely up to us to create our own abundance. I spent the first 41 years of my life thinking that way. And then I met a very cool guy who was a 6th-degree black belt and really seemed to understand the connection between body, mind, and spirit. In fact, my first step into attracting abundance began through some of the courses and workshops, in personal development, that this very cool guy led me to. I became a Reiki Master and I developed a passion for healing with energy and essential oils; through that passion, I started my first business which is www.ellevate.com. And once you start doing energy work, which anyone can do and I truly hope every mom and dad will do, you begin to better understand what all the meaning is behind “attracting” things into our lives.
It’s kind of an abstract concept to most people, this Law of Attraction, unless they’ve had some experiential learning with it. The concept is that “like attracts like” or that “where our thoughts go, so goes our world”. Most of us have heard these expressions since childhood but we didn’t really understand the power behind the words. Could it really mean that all we have to do is think about what we want and it will appear? Could it be that easy? How come everyone doesn’t have exactly what they want right now?
Well, energy is that simple but, as most of us have discovered, it isn’t alwasy easy. The Law of Attraction explains that what we authentically vibrate out to the universe is what we will receive in return. To back up a step, let me remind you that ALL matter is energy and ALL energy has a vibration; therefore, all matter has a vibration. We can measure the vibrational frequency of everything. People generally vibrate between 65 and 75 MHz. Most of the things we do each day lower our vibration: negative thoughts, alcohol, coffee, anger, fear, sadness, stress, low quality food, breathing polluted air, etc. So it’s important that we focus on also doing things that raise our vibration: therapeutic-grade essential oils, prayer, meditation, walks in nature, laughter, exercise, quality food and water, love, etc.
Once we are able to maintain a high vibe relatively consistently (no one’s perfect), then we want to BE in the vibration of what we desire. So, if I desire abundance, I will spend many free moments VISUALIZING and FEELING how it would be to drive the new E350 Mercedes Sedan (or 5 series BMW or the Lexus RX350…lol) that I desire, or how it feels to put on the new shoes I am going to buy from Anthropologie, or to literally choose the new cabinets, counter tops, and flooring that I desire for my kitchen remodel. The key to getting your whole body to vibrate authentically with what you desire is to BE in that place now in your conscious and subconscious mind. Your mind doesn’t know if what you’re thinking about is real or not; but the Universe responds to what you are putting out vibrationally, whether it’s good or bad, so don’t waste time on negative thoughts.
In order to attract a specific thing, let’s say financial abundance, it takes a combination of a couple of things: (a) keeping your vibration high and BEING in the experience of what you desire plus (b) taking the next right action. I’ve heard some critics complain that the Law of Attraction doesn’t address the “doing” part of life. In part, that’s not true; most LOA information includes the fact that you should not miss the opportunities that the Universe is sending your way to give you what your heart desires. In part, though, the fact is that BEING in the vibration of your desires, entirely, will advance your path exponentially faster than any amount of “doing” could.
I’ve spent the last year really focusing on attracting Abundance. It hasn’t always been easy. I quit my corporate job and chose to follow my heart’s desires of holistic healing and personal development. I started a second business at www.opentoabundance.com and, as anyone who starts their own business from scratch knows, there is a lot more cash flowing out than in, in the beginning. But I am focused on achieving my heart’s desires and when I catch myself in worry or fear, I immediately self-correct and refocus on what I know I am truly creating and receiving now….limitless abundance and infinite peace….and then I take the next right action.
